Arkansas Paws in Prison will be at Dogtown Farmers Market again this Saturday, Aug. 13. Come by to meet Hope, Rah Rah, and Choctaw — all looking for their forever homes.
Paws in Prison is made possible through Arkansas Department of Correction’s partnership with animal shelters and advocate groups around the state of Arkansas. Selected inmates have the opportunity to become trainers of rescue dogs in the program. Inmates work with the dogs teaching them basic obedience skills and properly socializing the animals, making them more adoptable. Last year in Arkansas, hundreds of homeless dogs were euthanized.
